For the fifth time, the WaldHaus Freiburg, in collaboration with the educational workshop Bagage, is hosting a unique exhibition. Artists have engaged with nature in a wide variety of ways and drawn inspiration from it. The range of works extends from oil and acrylic paintings and drawings to prints and mixed media, as well as wire sculptures and wooden sculptures.
More than 20 artists are participating in the exhibition. Some of them are staff members and instructors from the “Bagage family,” which consists of three divisions: the Educational Ideas Workshop, Bagage-Art, and Bagage Plan. In addition, graduates of the continuing education program in studio and workshop pedagogy have the opportunity to present their artistic works. The exhibited works also include pieces by the Freiburg artists Eberhard Brügel and Thomas Stadelmann.
Birgit Lüdtke-Brucker, artistic director of the Bagage Pedagogical Ideas Workshop, and Margret Hansen, deputy director and exhibition curator of the WaldHaus Foundation, are responsible for the planning and curation.
The exhibition will be on view at the forest house in Freiburg through March 21, 2027. Admission to the exhibition is free. A public opening reception will take place on Friday, October 23, at 6 p.m.
Forest house opening hours: February through October: Tue–Fri 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Sundays and holidays with café service 12 p.m.–5 p.m.; November and December: Tue–Fri 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Sundays and holidays (with café) 11 a.m.–4 p.m. The Waldhaus is closed to the public in January.
