Two brothers and a kindred spirit: the Renner Trio presents an unusual lineup this evening. The trombone-bass-drums combination is, after all, not all that common in jazz history. Moritz Renner, Tabea Kind, and Valentin Renner make excellent use of the musical spaces opened up by the absence of a harmonic instrument. Their interplay creates the perfect symbiosis between freedom and metered precision.
